We are young, aggressive and dedicated to achieve customer satisfaction. We pride ourselves on establishing relationships and delivering a quality product for a fair price. Since opening our doors in early 2014, we have been providing industry leading General Contracting and Construction Management services. We manage projects for clients in downtown Chicago and the surrounding areas. Our commitment to excellence and our relationship-based approach sets us apart from our competition. We view every project, no matter the size, as our number one priority. Each project is assigned a dedicated team of professionals whose focus is delivering an exceptional product that our customers can be proud to call their own.

Tom Wold

Tom Wold is the Chief Executive Officer and co-founder of TW Chicago. He oversees various departments, including Project Management, Estimating, and Client Relations. Tom is engaged with the firm’s business development, human resources, and procurement management as well. His philosophy is teamwork and fun — two approaches that make projects fulfilling and successful for both TW and clients.

For Tom, it is gratifying to take a project from conception to completion, seeing a client’s vision become a reality. With more than 15 years of experience in the commercial real estate and contracting industries, from estimating and project management to tenant renovations and operations, Tom possesses a well-rounded understanding of the construction process, offering added value to clients.

Tom earned his Bachelor of Science in business management from Elmhurst University. He is a member of the Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA) and a member of the Technology and Manufacturing Association (TMA). In his free time, Tom, his wife, and children like to visit Sister Bay, WI. 

Kevin Kenny

Kevin Kenny is a co-founder of TW Chicago, as well as the Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer. He actively manages and leads his multidisciplinary team, including the Estimating, Accounting, and Legal Divisions.

Kevin focuses on both sides of the coin by implementing strategies to best suit the projects from the ground up. His strategies have proven to be highly influential in boosting efficiency, mitigating financial risk, and developing partnerships. He is recognized for his realistic expectations and fair negotiations, providing transparency that builds trust with those he works with.

Kevin is a Certified Public Accountant with more than 15 years of accounting and finance experience. His background has honed his approach for preconstruction planning, value engineering, and budget analysis in the real estate and construction industries. His guidance helps his team keep projects within budget while maximizing value for clients.

Kevin earned his Bachelor of Science in accounting from Millikin University and Master of Science in accounting and financial management from Keller Graduate School of Management. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA). When not crunching numbers, he grabs a dry erase board and marker — doing his best Bill Belichick and Bob Knight impressions, coaching his son’s football and basketball teams.

Mark Guzzino

Mark Guzzino is a co-founder of TW Chicago. He serves as the Chief Marketing Officer and oversees client retention, acquisition, growth, and community engagement. Client satisfaction is at the heart of Mark’s focus, and he prides himself on dedication to client service. Mark believes that communication, especially listening to clients throughout all stages of projects — before, during, and after, ensures their experience with TW is the best.

As a co-founder, Mark has built the company’s culture and continues to reinforce this value daily. He uses the same satisfaction-based approach internally, viewing employee engagement and growth as vital to the success of TW and clients. Mark’s 15 years of commercial real estate experience has helped to establish a network of partnerships and developed a strong reputation for TW Chicago in the construction industry. It has earned TW the ranking as one of the top general contractors in the Midwest by the Real Estate Journal.

Mark earned his Bachelor of Science in marketing from Western Illinois University. He is a member of the Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA) and a member of CoreNet, an association for corporate real estate professionals. When not building relationships, Mark is building a travel itinerary for his family’s adventures together or planning a trip to the Atlantic Ocean to reel in his next deep-sea catch. 

Rick Anderson

Rick Anderson is the General Superintendent at TW Chicago and has been a member of the executive team since 2017. He oversees and manages field operations and supervises the field superintendents and construction projects. As the TW Safety Director, he manages a multitude of tasks, including safety meetings, training, OSHA inquiries, and tracking safety-related issues. Safety is no accident, and Rick stands behind safety tools being the best tools.

His work philosophy revolves around accountability — taking pride and ownership in his work and being someone his co-workers can count on. With more than 30 years of experience in construction, he has experienced the industry from every angle — a union tradesman, superintendent, project manager, and general superintendent. His well-rounded perspective has equipped him with vast industry knowledge and the agility to find creative resolutions to keep projects running smoothly and successfully.

A member of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America (UBC), Rick has completed his carpenter apprenticeship training, earned his OSHA 30-Hour Certification, and is First Aid and CPR certified. When not in Super mode, Rick is enjoying a cool breeze on his motorcycle or on his boat reeling in the big one. 

Christopher Derks

Christopher Derks is the Director of Project Management for TW Chicago. He joined the firm in 2019, bringing with him a wealth of experience in project management and operations for multimillion-dollar companies. If it’s project management, it starts with Christopher.

He motivates his team of managers and keeps projects running efficiently with his keen eye for workflow. He upgraded TW’s management, estimating, accounting, and control tools increasing project efficiency. For each client, Chris handpicks the best TW Project Manager to fit a client’s specific needs. He works with all project stakeholders, from tenants and building owners to architects and engineers, to develop relationships that result in successful projects.

A big sports fan, Chris applies a team-like mentality to problem solving and a collaborative approach in his work ethic. His philosophy is — “It is not your problem; it is our problem.”

Chris earned his Bachelor of Science in construction management with a minor in business from Bradley University.

When he is not building client relationships and project teams, Chris can be found on the slopes skiing/snowboarding or in his backyard grilling a feast for family and friends. Watch out, Chris also has a reputation for spreading cheer with a contagious sense of humor.

Jason Sullivan

Jason Sullivan is a Senior Project Manager for TW Chicago and joined the firm in 2018. He is responsible for project schedules, finances, performance, and customer satisfaction for projects from start to finish. Details and excellent communication skills are his strengths.


Jason prides himself on effectively managing projects by keeping the client and design team updated and informed throughout the project progress. He has extensive experience managing projects in roles both as a Superintendent and Project Manager — including tenant improvements, food services, interior mall renovations, and high-rise ground-up residential projects ranging from small to multimillion-dollar developments.


A graduate of Western Illinois University, Jason earned his Bachelor of Science degree in construction management with a minor in business management. When not managing TW client projects, he enjoys spending time with his family and friends and time out on the greens managing his golf score.

Mike Ruffolo

Mike Ruffolo is a Senior Project Manager at TW Chicago. He is responsible for managing and maintaining new and ongoing client projects from initial stages to closeout, completion, and turnover.

With a reputation as a team player, Mike values the importance and necessity of effective communication, teamwork and great industry relationships. He joined TW in March 2022 and works with all stakeholders to understand and respond to client questions, concerns, and requests. Further, Mike takes pride in advocating client needs and confirming all end user input is captured during the design processes leading to smooth and successful buildouts and project deliveries.

Mike brings 10 years of general contractor experience to TW. Previously, he served as a Project Manager for J.C. Anderson, Inc. Mike earned his bachelor’s degree from Bradley University, and he is OSHA 30-hour certified.

 In his free time, you'll find Mike looking for his errant golf shot, playing sports with his son or relaxing with his dogs. He will also be rooting for his favorite local teams — Go Bears, Blackhawks, and Cubs! For the past 15 years, Mike has volunteered with the Darien Lions Club to provide food and care packages to bring holiday cheer to more than 300 families in need.

Lacey McKenzie

Lacey McKenzie is a Project Manager with TW Chicago. She is responsible for organizing operations between all stakeholders on construction projects. This includes the client, TW Chicago, and design team. Lacey has a keen eye for organization, which allows her to stay on top of everything from on-site material submittals, requests for project information, and meeting action items. 

Assisting with the Accounting and Estimating Departments as well as her duties as Project Engineer, you’ll often find her involved in every aspect of projects from start to finish. Having joined TW in 2018, Lacey is well known for her adaptability and enthusiasm. These skills are especially vital, and they help her address challenges and problems with agility and ease. Lacey has a diverse background earning her Bachelor of Science degree in meteorology from Northern Illinois University and working her way into the construction industry as an estimator.

In her free time, Lacey enjoys a good challenge such as improving her running time, learning a new song on her bass guitar, and actually finishing the books she has started.

Andrew Schweiss

Andrew Schweiss is a Project Manager at TW Chicago. He is responsible for creating preliminary and progress schedules, maintaining project budgets and costs, communicating with clients and subcontractors, and coordinating project meetings. Additionally, Andrew coordinates requests for information (RFIs) and submittals.

Joining the firm in February 2022, Andrew prides himself on being detail-oriented and on his strong technical background. He enjoys guiding TW clients through solving problems to help them successfully achieve their goals. Andrew has management experience in glass/glazing, masonry restoration, and decorative flooring projects. Additionally, he has worked with a precast concrete company and managed warehouse and parking garage projects.

Andrew earned his bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from Southern Illinois University Carbondale, and he is OSHA 30-hour certified. When not working on client projects, you can find him spending time with his son or using his culinary skills in the kitchen or backyard, grilling with his smoker. In his spare time, Andrew also enjoys the fun challenge of building computers.

Kelly Doherty

Kelly Doherty is a Senior Project Coordinator at TW Chicago. She supports and assists the TW accounting, estimating, and project teams. With an eye on organization and prioritization of tasks, Kelly works on multiple fast-track projects to ensure client satisfaction and that deadlines are met.

Kelly joined the TW team in 2022. She brings more than 20 years of experience working for general contractors of various sizes and across all industries. Her work ethic and project management expertise make her a coordinator with a proven track record and robust skills.

An animal lover, when Kelly isn’t managing project deadlines, you'll find her volunteering at her local no-kill animal shelter. For over 14 years, she has transported dogs from other states to her local shelter for rescue and adoption. Kelly also serves on the board of the Chicagoland Toys for Tots Motorcycle Parade, and she hopes to visit all 50 states on her motorcycle.

David Del Valle

David Del Valle is a Project Engineer for TW Chicago. He is responsible for maintaining in-depth knowledge of project specifications and drawings to support the project management team. He prides himself on being familiar with the full scope and aspects of projects to ensure smooth and high-quality execution and delivery.

David is a life-long learner and is always on the lookout for opportunities to increase his skills and knowledge. Known for being driven and motivated, he is eager to bring out the best in others with his positive attitude and willingness to help clients and the TW team. David joined TW in 2021 after returning from the Fort Myers/Naples area. He has previous experience with general contractor firms in Chicago and worked as a project engineer while in Florida.

 David has a bachelor’s degree in technical systems management with a focus on construction management from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and he is OSHA 30-hour certified. After work, David enjoys listening to music and exploring the city to discover new restaurants and craft breweries.

Gary Espey

Gary Espey is a Project Accountant with TW Chicago and joined the firm in 2017. He supports all financial activities and monitors financial performance for client projects. This includes variance reviews, expense approvals, progress billings, and payroll. Gary doesn’t just crunch numbers — he makes them work.

A well-versed finance and accounting professional, he consistently delivers the type of financial intel and insights that allow TW’s team to maximize success and results for clients. He also leverages technology platforms to help keep projects on budget.

Gary is proud of his hard work ethic and providing financial information that strategically helps guide, plan, and complete projects efficiently and effectively. His history of over 20 years of experience in sales, business development, finance, and accounting with public and private companies is a big payoff for TW and our clients.

Gary’s alma mater is Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches, Texas. Go Lumberjacks! There, he earned a Bachelor of Science in business administration and accounting. When not captivated by mathematical calculations, Gary is chasing his grandkids. Or you can find him working on his golf swing by playing a round or two. Currently, Gary reports his golf handicap is the game itself. Fore!

Robert Rivera

Robert Rivera is a Lead Estimator at TW Chicago and joined the firm in 2019. He coordinates with trade partners, architects, and engineers to acquire a full understanding of the projects at hand and the costs associated to get the job done. This includes visiting job sites, analyzing data, and fostering relationships.

With more than 10 years of experience as an estimator, Robert has worked on pricing construction of all sizes. He continually advances his knowledge by scheduling seminars, webinars, and site meetings with his fellow trade partners. His combined experience and attention to detail translate into TW competing for and winning premiere Chicagoland construction opportunities.

Robert is a member of the American Society of Professional Estimators. Outside of the office, Robert’s favorite activities involve his two sons — his greatest accomplishments in life. A diehard Chicago White Sox fan, he enjoys watching and going to games together with them. 

Steve Peterson

Steve Peterson is a Senior Superintendent at TW Chicago. He oversees and manages complex construction projects and is responsible for the onsite management of some of TW’s largest projects. He joined the firm in 2017 and has more than 30 years of experience in the construction industry.

Throughout Steve’s career, he has managed projects from taking apartment complexes and industrial buildings out of the ground to making restaurant and bar owners’ visions a reality. He has worked as a foreman, construction manager, and owner — equipping him with well-rounded insights into all project aspects, a highly organized approach and keen attention to detail.

Steve is OSHA safety certified and has been recognized as Field superintendent of the Year multiple times during his career. He believes communication is a cornerstone of project excellence, making it possible to meet timelines, deliver high quality and maintain safety. His proven track record reflects his ability to be proactive, identify potential problems and create solutions that keep projects on track.
When not out in the field on a project, you can find Steve out on the water. Him and his family enjoy spending weekends waterskiing, fishing, and relaxing. 

Donnie Milne

Donnie Milne is a Project Superintendent with TW Chicago. He leads and manages the on-site construction team at his job sites. This includes coordinating trade partners, enforcing safety protocols, maintaining a clean site, and communicating with building engineers to ensure the smooth progression of the project at hand. 

 Donald takes pride in being a team player, which is even more gratifying in TW’s collaborative environment. He believes that leveraging everyone’s strengths ensures the success of projects. For Donald and TW, the team and collaboration also extend to the client, making a client’s experience and satisfaction a reality.

 Donald joined TW in 2019, and he has more than 25 years of industry experience with a specialization in carpentry. His expertise offers unique knowledge and the capabilities to supervise and run projects with positive results. Over his career, Donald has honed his skills and agility — from communicating expectations and timelines to jumping in and completing final tasks to meet project deadlines.

 Whenever he can, Donald also jumps at the opportunity to beat his fishing record. He’s always outdoing himself and the record number of crappies he’s caught. His friends and family are happy to hear when he’s out on his boat — they know they’re in for a good old-fashioned fish fry. 

Don Gibson

Don Gibson is a Senior Superintendent for TW Chicago. He works with project stakeholders to establish schedules, provide weekly progress updates and maintain a safe construction environment to keep projects on budget and schedule. Responsible for on-site management, Don is tuned in when on a project — he knows every detail.

Don believes that communication is vital to successful collaborations with clients. He builds relationships with project stakeholders that allow him to manage and maximize workflow efficiency. He has more than 40 years of experience in the engineering and construction industries — from foreman and manager to owner and superintendent. Don is known for his reliability, smooth-running projects, and high-quality results for clients.

Don earned his Bachelor of Science degree in engineering from Louisiana State University. Go Tigers! He is a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE). The apples of his eye are his three grandchildren, and spending time with them is a high priority. He also takes to the woods for R&R at his lake home in northern Wisconsin, where hunting and fishing are his favorite outdoorsman activities.

DJ Doherty

DJ Doherty is a Superintendent at TW Chicago. He coordinates with tenants and sub-contractors to achieve clients’ goals and complete projects on time and on budget. DJ’s critical thinking and management resources keep him at the top of his game and TW’s commercial and industrial projects running smoothly.

Since joining the firm in 2017, DJ has become known for anticipating problems and using his construction experience to be proactive and offer solutions to clients and the TW team. He takes great pride in his team and makes it a priority to be a team player who is flexible and agile, taking on aspects of projects needed to make TW and clients successful.

DJ has more than 8 years of experience in the construction industry, and he has a passion for learning. Continuously, he adds to his knowledge through industry peers and co-workers. DJ earned his Bachelor of Science in construction management from Western Illinois University, taking courses in LEED, Six Sigma, estimating, and management. He is OSHA 30-Hour certified.

When DJ isn’t growing his knowledge, you’ll find him in a ticket line — happily scoring a good seat to attend a live show or concert. 

David Nardi 

David Nardi is a Foreman I at TW Chicago. He is responsible for managing multiple projects ranging from painting to new construction. He also coordinates with local tradespeople to execute project goals, achieve requirements, and meet deadlines on time.

To deliver quality craftsmanship, David focuses on constant communication, transparency, and mutual respect. He is proficient in multiple languages and can communicate easily and effectively with various project teams and TW clients. He joined the TW team in January of 2022 and offers more than 10 years of experience in the carpentry and construction industry.

David has earned OSHA 30-hour, fall prevention and protection, scaffolding erector, and aerial lift operator certifications. He prioritizes the safety of others on and off the field and is a safety advocate who ensures that TW’s rules and protocols are followed.

When not on a job site, David spends his time with family and friends.

Ed Kollman

Ed Kollman is the Warehouse and Logistics Manager at TW Chicago. He procures and distributes all safety and site equipment from the TW warehouse to job sites. He also ensures all equipment is clean, operational, and well-maintained.

Joining TW in 2015, Ed was one of the firm’s first employees. He has been in construction management and logistics for over 25 years and has a variety of experience — from large and small construction projects to landscape construction. By the team, he is known for lending a helping hand to others with consistent dependability and loyalty. He answers his phone at any hour and drops what he is doing to help his team and TW clients.

Ed earned his Associate of Applied Science degree in business management from the College of DuPage, and he is OSHA 30-Hour certified. When not working his management and logistics magic, you can find him on road trip adventures to the Dakotas, where he one day plans to retire. Ed loves the wide-open roads and spaces where he can let his freedom ring!
