Project Manager

Commercial general contracting company seeking a Project Manager that will be responsible for overall management for pre-construction activities and work with the onsite Superintendent to ensure successful project completion. This position will require an understanding of various project management skills; be able to oversee the day-to-day activities of multiple construction projects; ensure client satisfaction; make decisions and recommendations which will impact corporate relationships with clients and profitability of projects he/she manages.

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Accurately estimate projects from conceptual through construction documents.
  • Provide initial schedule for estimating and bidding purpose; provide detailed construction schedule as necessary.
  • Review with Senior Management project costs to ensure project is kept within budget.
  • Maintain subcontractor relations and assist with conflict resolution as needed.
  • Provide counseling, guidance, and direction to project site personn
  • Coordinate, plan, and supervise project field activities with Subcontractors, Labors, and Tradesme
  • Enforce the company’s safety policies and maintain a climate that emphasizes on-site safety in compliance with OSHA standard
  • Develop, enhance, and maintain client relationship
  • Maintain quality control by regular inspection of work in progress and completed proj
  • Prepare and maintain Change Order, RFI, and Submittal pro
  • Prepare punch-list for each project and all items have been completed.Manage project close-out and final documentatio
  • Ensure city inspections are approved, documented, and communicated to Project Team.
  • Attend & coordinate weekly meetings as needed (safety, owner, progress, close-out, etc).

 

Desired Skills & Qualifications

  • Four-year construction-related degree in Construction Engineering, Civil Engineering, Construction Management or equivale
  • Minimum 7 years’ industry experience preferably for a General Contractor or Construction Manager specializing in interior
  • office construc
  • Superior communication and interpersonal, leadership, supervisory, problem-solving, and teamwork s
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Microsoft Projec
  • Innovative and effective management techniques to maximize employee performa

Sr. Project Manager
Superintendent

Fast growing commercial interior general contracting firm seeking a contract-to-hire Site Superintendent that will be responsible for overseeing projects in the Chicagoland area. This position will require an understanding of various project management skills and should be able to oversee the day-to-day activities of multiple construction projects.

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate, plan, and supervise project field activities with Subcontractors, Labors, and Tradesmen.
  • Enforce the company’s safety policies and maintain a climate that emphasizes on-site safety in compliance with OSHA standards.
  • Develop, enhance, and maintain client relationships.
  • Prepare and implement project schedule and 3 week look ahead; frequently update & review schedule and 3 week look ahead.
  • Maintain quality control by regular inspection of work in progress and completed projects. · Ensure site maintains a standard of cleanliness – waste/trash disposal as needed.
  • Develop and implement site utilization plan.
  • Exhibits sound, accurate, and professional judgment.
  • Monitor site project to ensure it is constructed per plans and specifications.
  • Prepare punch-list checklist for each project and all punch list have been completed. · Manage project close-out and final documentation.
  • Coordinate city inspections and ensure inspections are approved, documented, and communicated to Project Team. · Attend & coordinate weekly meetings as needed (safety, owner, progress, close-out, etc).

 

Desired Skills & Qualifications

  • Minimum 10 years’ industry experience for a General Contractor or Construction Manager specializing in interior office construction.
  • Strong interpersonal, leadership, supervisory, problem-solving, and teamwork skills. · Proficient in Microsoft Office and Microsoft Project.
  • Working knowledge of field construction and its systems, practices, safety, and procedures. · Ability to interpret construction documents.
  • Knowledge of basic scheduling techniques and ability to create project schedule(s). · 30 hour OSHA certification required.
  • 4 year degree in Construction Engineering, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent preferred and/or equal professional experience.
  • Driver’s license required and ability to travel from site to site as needed.
